GET ON THE CIRCUIT FOR NATIONAL TRAILS MONTH
The Region's Trail Network to Offer Full Schedule of Community Events throughout June

June is National Trails Month and there is perhaps no other place that’s better equipped to make the most of it than the greater Philadelphia region. Philadelphia and eight surrounding counties are home to the Circuit, the area’s comprehensive trail network that, when complete, will include 750 miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails connecting people to jobs, communities, waterways, parks and more. To date, more than 300 miles of the network have been built and 50 miles are under construction.
To celebrate this regional asset, members of the Circuit Coalition – a collaboration of nearly 70 non-profit organizations, foundations and public agencies working to complete and connect trails – are getting people out on the trails with a series of events in connection with National Trails Month. “We encourage people to use the Circuit trails in a variety of ways,” explains Sarah Clark Stuart, chairperson of the Circuit Coalition and deputy director of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. “And we’re seeing that play out every day. The Circuit is a commuting route, town square, gym, playground, meeting place, a conduit to rivers and parks. People are on the Circuit and that’s what it’s all about!” Stuart said.
National Trail Month events on the Circuit are designed for bikers, walkers and strollers of all abilities.
