Her Puppy Inspired Her To Serve: Chester County Girl Shares Adoption Story
Her puppy inspired her to make the world a better place.

A Villa Maria Academy senior and local girl recently shared her inspiring story of adoption and community service.
Grace Kuroki adopted a puppy six years ago. It inspired her to make the world a better place:
My name is Grace Kuroki and I am a senior at Villa Maria Academy. I have been working on a project for six years now, called, “Ella’s Project.” My story dates back to when I was in sixth grade and really wanted a new puppy. After several months of begging and bothering my parents, I was awarded the best Christmas gift anyone could ever ask for: a new best friend. Mine happens to be a small, 12 lb. Shichon named Ella. Since the first day I saw her, I knew that we were going to be the world’s best duo ever. But, also from that day forward, I knew I had to give back to my community and try to help the other puppies that do not get to have their Christmas miracle yet.

For six years, I have been hand knotting these blankets and distributing them to various animal rescues in the area. This year, I have chosen to give you the Christmas gift of these blankets. I hope that you will find good use for them and that hopefully the puppies and kittens will enjoy them as much as I love making them.
I want to thank you for all you do for the animals of my community and hope that you continue with all of your charitable work. I hope that in the future I will be able to continue donating to you with many more blankets.
