How U.S. News Ranked All Chester County High Schools In 2020

These are the highest-ranked Chester County schools by U.S. News & World Report:

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Some much needed good news for local residents: eight Chester County high schools are among the top 50 in the entire state, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report 2020 rankings.

Released this week, the oft-cited schools list ranked Downingtown STEM 2nd statewide. It was followed closed by Conestoga in 4th and Unionville in 6th.

U.S. News used a number of weighted criteria to come up with the rankings, the most important being college readiness. You can see the full methodology here.

In all, U.S. News & World Report listed 754 Pennsylvania high schools.

This year, two Pennsylvania high schools were ranked in the top 100 in the nation, according to the rankings.

"The Best High Schools rankings provide the most comprehensive, data-based information on nearly every public high school in the country," Anita Narayan, managing editor of education at U.S. News, said in a news release. "Families can use this information to see how their local schools compare on graduation rates and state assessments, as well as academic performance by students who are traditionally underserved — those who are black, Hispanic or from low-income households."
