Museum Explorers Summer Art Programs

five dynamic art programs for children ages 3 to 10

Museum Explorers

Thursdays, July 2 through 30
Session A: 10 a.m. Session B: 11 a.m.

Dynamic art programs designed to excite children about art will take place at the Museum this summer. Participate in one or all five of these workshops designed for children ages 3 to 10 accompanied by an adult. Each program will include a thematic, interactive guided tour followed by a creative art project. Two sessions will be held each day: Session A: 10 a.m. or Session B: 11 a.m. Workshops are free for members and included in Museum admission. July 2: Learning to Look
Discover the elements of art on a museum tour and create a colorful and textured collage.

July 9: Summer Stories
Explore stories in the work of Horace Pippin and other artists and start a sketchbook of summer experiences.

July 16: Treasure Tales
Find hidden details in paintings of pirates and other adventurers and decorate a special container for personal treasures.

July 23: Animals in Art
Search the museum for animals of every shape and size and make imaginative creatures from Crayola Model Magic.

July 30: Riverscapes
Observe the changing colors and reflections of the Brandywine River as seen in paintings and in nature, and capture the view on paper using oil pastels.
