Overnight Fire Damages West Goshen Home Monday: Officials

A fire in West Goshen caused significant damage to a home and the attached garage early Monday morning, officials said.

A fire in West Goshen early Monday morning severely damaged a home, officials said.

The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. Monday morning on the 100 block of Bantery Road, according to fire officials.

The fire began in a garage attached to the house. When crews arrived on the scene, they upgraded the call to a working alarm.

Crews attempted to put out the fire from inside, but were forced back out as the roof gave away.

After about 90 minutes, crews were able to get the blaze under control. They remained on the scene for several hours, until around 6 a.m., authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

It's not yet clear what caused the blaze.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the Driscoll family recover from the damage. Donations will help the family with "basic needs in life that we all take for granted," according to Maya Sigmund, who created the page.

The Goodwill Fire Company #2, Fame Fire Co. No. 3, First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51, Goshen Fire Company, and Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute all responded to the blaze.
