Very Thin Mom Dog, 5 Puppies Rescued From Chesco Home: SPCA
The SPCA rescued an extremely thin pitbull and her five newborn puppies from a home in Chester County Wednesday.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The SPCA rescued an extremely thin pitbull and her five newborn puppies from a home in Chester County Wednesday.
Officers with the Pennsylvania SPCA's Humane Law Enforcement team had received a tip from a concerned citizen that the animals might be in danger.
The mother is a pitbull mix named Mia. Her puppies are estimated to be between three and five days old, the SPCA said.

An investigation into the case is ongoing. Charges are pending, but it's not yet clear how many arrests have been made or what those charges may be.
Due to concerns for their welfare, they were taken from the property and brought to the SPCA's Erie Avenue headquarters in Philadelphia. On Wednesday, they were evaluated and treated by the shelter hospital team.

Once the dogs are deemed healthy enough, they will be placed for adoption.
