West Chester Food Cupboard receives $5K for its Summer Food Program for Children
Program provides boxes of food for families with school-aged children during summer months

WEST CHESTER, PA (July 2, 2015) - Citizens Bank presented $5,000 to the West Chester Food Cupboard for its Summer Food Program for Children. Now in its second year, the program provides WCFC clients with school-aged children a box of food items to help supplement their nutrition during the summer months when their children are home from school. Families whose children eat lunch at school during the school year have difficulty finding extra food to feed children during the summer.
The $5,000 contribution to the West Chester Food Cupboard is part of the bank’s Citizens Helping Citizens Fight Hunger initiative to support various nonprofits throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware that provide hunger relief, nutrition assistance and help improve access to food for families.
“We are proud to once again support local hunger relief organizations that provide assistance for families during the summer months when food donations tend to decline,” said Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, President of Citizens Bank in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. “At Citizens Bank, we strive to contribute to the health of the communities where we do business and these organizations allow us to help even more people in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.”
