West Chester High Schools Score Among Highest SAT Averages In Chester County

See how West Chester school district students fared against the rest of the state and the county on average SAT scores.

WEST CHESTER, PA -- The Pennsylvania Department of Education released the average 2016 SAT scores for schools statewide, and the West Chester School District fared very well.

West Chester's Henderson (5th, 1643), Bayard Rustin (6th, 1620), and East (10th, 1593) all placed in the top 10 in the county.

Chester County was led by Downingtown STEM, which averaged 1839, and Conestoga, which averaged 1795. Conestoga was also the top public high school in the region.

In nearby Montgomery County, Lower Merion and Harriton led the way, with average scores of 1766 and 1754, respectively.

The top school in the Philadelphia area - and in the entire state - was Julia Masterman High School in the city, with an average of 1978.
