West Chester School Closing Decision Will Come Thursday Morning

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Area School District will make a decision on school closings Thursday morning, Superintendent Jim Scanlon said.

Scanlon said district staff was "keeping a close eye" on the weather and that a decision would come by 5:30 a.m.

Regardless of the total accumulation - which could range from three inches in parts of Chester County to seven inches in Philadelphia, per forecasters - temperatures are expected to be dangerously low, dipping down to just 8 degrees Thursday.
