WEST CHESTER, PA — After a night of mischief, it looks like two local thieves grew a conscious.
Police shared a video over the weekend of surveillance footage showing two individuals stealing a hefty lion statue from the front yard of a West Chester residence.
Authorities were asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

But shortly after police shared the video, surveillance footage captured something else:

Two individuals, assumedly the same pair that stole the statue, carried it back onto the lawn late Friday night.
Before leaving, however, they ran up to the front step and dropped a bouquet of flowers and a card.
"We thank everyone who shared the video and to the two fellas, smart move to return the property," police said. "The owner is grateful the statue was returned."
