“I am so proud of these accomplishments, but I am absolutely not surprised!” said Desha L. Williams, Dean of the College of Education and Social Work.

“I have often been asked, ‘Why do you care about rankings?’ and ‘Why do you promote rankings?’ My answer is this: Rankings are one indication of the phenomenal work of our faculty and the fabulous learning opportunities provided to our students. WCU teacher candidates experience extensive time in the field, learning how to be flexible in the ever-changing educational landscape, and how to engage diverse learners through impactful educative experiences. Graduates of our educational programs are highly sought after by school districts and many return to West Chester to obtain advanced degrees.”
