West Chester's Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration Plus TRIAL BY JURY -- a Musical Comedy Tradition for the Whole Family!
Four shows only (Dec 3-Dec 6) with a carol sing -- the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit!
Set in the historic Chester County Courthouse, TRIAL BY JURY, a musical comedy for the entire family, is a tradition of The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Chester County [http://www.gsschesco.org/] at West Chester’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration!
TRIAL BY JURY is a story set to song about Edwin, the defendant & roguish playboy, who has jilted Angelina, the lovely plaintiff, who is taking him to court for breach of promise, a now-forgotten proceeding where a man could be sued for withdrawing a promise of marriage. As Edwin makes his plea, Angelina flirts shamelessly with the all-male jury. Confusion reigns! In chorus the Jury and Public bring the courtroom to life with their actions and reactions to the trial of the 19th century. The learned judge & legal system are the objects of lighthearted satire until the learned judge renders a verdict that all can accept readily.
Begin the holiday season with this musical gem – four shows only! Buy tickets online (discounted) or at the door (full price). After TRIAL BY JURY, join the actors for a carol sing – a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit!
