• New LCCC scholarship opens doors for WB area students (2822news.com) — Wilkes-Barre Area high school students now have access to a new Luzerne County Community College scholarship endowment that helps them earn college credits and ease the transition to higher education. Funded by the Kotlowski family and honoring longtime Heights residents, the program aims to support about two dozen students a year and strengthen the community's future workforce.
   

• 'A concrete sign of God's goodness' (timesleader.com) — King's College in Wilkes-Barre has gifted a relic of St. Pius X to the Diocese of Scranton as the diocese reestablishes its Pius X Seminary. College president Rev. Thomas Looney presented the relic during a special Mass marking King's 80th anniversary, underscoring the long-standing partnership between the college and the local Catholic community.
   

• Dean's lists: Sept. 27, 2026 (citizensvoice.com) — Several Wilkes-Barre students have earned spots on Southern New Hampshire University's prestigious president's list, joining classmates from nearby communities like Pittston, Mountain Top, and Nanticoke. These honors recognize strong GPAs from the summer term and spotlight local residents' academic success well beyond Pennsylvania, offering families and neighbors a reason to celebrate their achievements.
