Homeland Security Task Force Operation Leads to Three Luzerne County Men Convicted of Drug Trafficking Offenses (blogspot.com) — Three Wilkes-Barre men were convicted in federal court for running a drug-trafficking conspiracy based out of a local barbershop, involving fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other drugs. The case, part of a Homeland Security Task Force initiative, could bring sentences up to life in prison and involved multiple Wilkes-Barre law enforcement agencies.
   

5. Brace's Orchard credits helicopter for saving crop (2822news.com) — A Wilkes-Barre-area staple, Brace's Orchards, credits a hired helicopter with saving about 70% of its apple crop during an April frost. The farm is now bringing plenty of fruit to local farmers markets, though some damaged apples will be turned into cider as they adapt to changing weather challenges.
