With all of the musical acts today performing in NYC and elsewhere what really sparked my attention and caught my eye was a musical act/ band review in Elmore Magazine on the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band. The band performed at the famous Bowery Electric a few years ago in NYC. The bands review was written by the famous music photographer Arnie Goodman himself. I also purchased this book online "I Put A Spell On You, The Bizarre Life of Screamin' Jay Hawkins" written by author Steve Bergsman. The book really was a great read. I myself am so busy these days I do not have much time to read books anymore. This book also sparked my interest in this band and I was shocked to learn Screamin' Jay Hawkins guitarist from the 1970's is in this band after reading about Mike Armando's years of performing with Hawkins in the book. I said to myself this is wild. I learned a lot about this arty-crafty wild causative artist Screamin' Jay Hawkins from reading this book so I decided I wanted to find out what this band had to offer and if I am in town I will come to the show at Jamey's House of Music in PA. on July 27th.

I found out from online research that multi award singer/songwriter Emily Adams will be performing with the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band on the same bill as them and the band will also be backing her for her performance which is great news. Emily Adams has taken her mesmerizing melodies on a thrilling global journey, leaving a trail of musical magic in her wake. From the vibrant Crossroads, NJ to the cozy EJ's Tap House NJ and Jamey's House of Music, PA. Emily has graced stages of all sizes. Her music transcends boundaries, igniting the atmosphere. I did some more online research and decided to listen to Emily Adams music and singing and I am very impressed, what a great talent she is. Emily has performed in the past at Jamey's House of music but this time will be much different with the performance of these two great artists and bands together.

Let's not forget the great musicians who are in the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band.

Mike Armando who is a great jazz/blues guitarist and has worked with saxophonist Fred Lipsius from the Blood Sweat & Tears, Artt Frank who was the drummer for the late great Chet Baker, jazz vocalist Nancy Monroe, bassist Eddie Gomez I could go on and on. Mike Armando also worked with actress Sharon Stone on Artt's CD release on the mja Record label titled Waltz For Sharon Stone, Mike Armando has produced 15 cd's on the mja Record label which propelled Artt Frank into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Mike was the producer for his CD.

Shakar "TheRealShakar" Brumfield who is one of the best singers in NYC and a power house of a singer for the group is an award winning vocalist who performed at The Apollo Theater in NYC making of a star winner. Shakar also made his stage-acting debut in the off-Broadway stage play/musical "Life Insurance" in December 2016. Shakar performances with the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band will put a spell on you. No one can do it better.

Arno Hecht is the sax player and the founding member of the Uptown Horns, the legendary NYC-based horn section. He is also the saxophonist for the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins Band. He has played with countless artists, including The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Plant, James Brown, Tom Waits, the J. Geils Band, Dion, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop, the B-52s, Buster Poindexter, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Pat Benatar, Ronnie Spector, The Allman Brothers, Darlene Love, Joe Cocker, Albert Collins, and recorded on more than 350 records.

Andrew Golba bassist living in New York City has been on the jazz / blues music scene for many years. He has performed at many of the top jazz clubs including the Iridium with jazz blues guitarist Mike Armando. Andrew can be described as a jazz bass adventurer. He plays it all. Jazz, blues, soul, rock, metal no matter what music you throw at him he can play it. Many are Impressed with Andrew’s bass lines, rhythm and solid time.

Michael Fox drummer Education Graduate of the Performing Arts school has studied Mallets with Jim Price Manhattan School of Music.. Michael has Performed with Etta James, Jay Siegel the Tokens, The Devotions, the Classics and the late great Tommy Mara and the Crest, Michael Powers Clarence Spady, Sonny Hudson, French Rock and Blues Star Manu Lanvin and many others. Michael Fox with his great drumming and timing holds this project together.
