$180K Wire Fraud, Check Thefts Top Lower Makefield Twp. Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has reported its blotter of recent criminal incidents.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A $180,000 wire fraud and numerous check thefts topped the Lower Makefield Township Police Department's blotter of recent criminal incidents.

IDENTITY THEFT —1200 block of Linden Avenue, reported at 9 p.m. The complainant
reported unknown person(s) used their information to rent an apartment.

THEFT —1200 block of Pebble Court, reported at 7:26 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of a license plate sometime within the past month.

THEFT —600 block of Deerbrook Drive, reported at 12:47 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.
4/17/2023
WANTED PERSON —Route 332 and Mirror Lake Road, reported at 11:52 a.m. Police on patrol received a wanted hit on a vehicle in the area. Further investigation revealed the 36-year-old driver from Philadelphia was wanted by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into police custody.
FRAUD —2500 block of Brookhaven Drive, reported at 2:30 p.m. The complainant reported being the victims of wire fraud totaling $180,000.
IDENTITY THEFT —1000 block of Waterford Road, reported at 3:15 p.m. Police received a call from Louisiana State Police stating they stopped a vehicle with a subject who was in possession of blank checks bearing an LMT resident’s information. The victim has been experiencing fraud regarding their bank account. The investigation is ongoing.
THEFT —1700 block of Buchannan Way, reported at 2:38 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —300 block of Frazer Drive, reported at 9:23 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) spray-painted two of their vehicles.
THEFT —500 block of Aspen Woods Drive, reported at 6:36 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.

THEFTS:
- 2300 block of Sterling Road, reported at 11:07 a.m. The complainant reported believing to be interviewing for a job when they were advised to send a $200 gift card to an unknown person.
- 3400 block of Waltham Court, reported at 12:50 p.m. The complainant reported unknown person intercepted mailed checks, altered them, and cashed them.

SOLICITORS:
- 600 block of Friar Drive, reported at 11:40 a.m. The complainant reported solicitors in the area soliciting without permits. They were not able to be located.
- South S. Crescent Boulevard and Homestead Drive, reported at 1:46 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors for KSW Construction in the area soliciting without a permit. The man was advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
