$293K Wire Transfer, Eye Product Thefts Top Lower Makefield Crimes

Lower Makefield Police also reported a $3,800 credit card fraud and egged vehicles in its police blotter.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Solicitors and thefts —including $293,000 in a wire transfer —were among the criminal incidents the Lower Makefield Township Police Department reported in its recent police blotter.

SOLICITORS —1700 block of Westover Road, reported at 10:31 a.m. The complainant reported solicitors for Disaster Solutions soliciting without permits. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.

FRAUD —1000 block North Elbow Lane, reported at 9:36 a.m. The complainant reported selling items and accepted a credit card for payment. The buyer then reported the credit card stolen and the transaction was canceled.

FRAUD —2000 block of Silverwood Drive, reported at 1:37 p.m. The complainant reported having
$293,000 stolen during a wire transfer.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —Unit block of Fairway Drive, reported at 9:29 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) egged their residence.

FRAUD —300 block of Oxford Valley Road, reported at 10:41 a.m. The complainant reported a check they mailed was intercepted, altered, and cashed.

FRAUD —Unit block of Hillside Lane, reported at 3:53 p.m. The complainant reported suspicious activity on their email and financial accounts. About $34,000 was attempted to be transferred to other unknown accounts.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS —1600 block of Trellis Circle, reported at 6:50 p.m. Police responded to the report of a male in the middle of the street, yelling and stumbling. Further investigation led to a 36-year-old Lower Makefield Township man being cited for Public Drunkenness.

RETAIL THEFT —600 block of Heacock Road at Rite Aid, reported at 1 p.m. Store manager reported that on March 30, an unknown male entered the store and removed $1,990.05 worth of eye care products without paying.

RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Kohl’s, reported at 7:43 p.m. A customer reported witnessing a retail theft while shopping. They were able to obtain a license plate from the suspect vehicle and provided it to the police. The investigation is ongoing.

FRAUD —600 block of Deerbrook Drive, reported at 1:35 p.m. The complainant reported a check they mailed was intercepted, altered, and cashed.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — 1000 block of North Elbow Lane, reported at 2:41 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) spray-painted their vehicle.

THEFT —200 block of Ballytore Court, reported at 5:34 p.m. The complainant reported theft of
two chimney caps from the front of the residence.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —Unit block of Noreen Drive, reported at 8:32 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) egged their vehicle.

DUI ARREST —600 block of Grindan Drive, reported at 11:08 p.m. While police were responding to a report of a loud party, a 35-year-old Croydon woman arrived to pick up a family member. It was determined she was under the influence. She was taken into police custody for Driving Under the Influence.

FRAUD —1600 block of Covington Road, reported at 1:58 p.m. The complainant reported their
the computer was hacked and $3,800 was charged to their credit card.

THEFT —500 block of W. Trenton Avenue at Tires Plus, reported at 11:31 p.m. The store manager reported an unknown male had work performed, took the vehicle without paying, and provided a false name. The investigation is ongoing.
