$49K Computer Fraud, Identity Thefts Top Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Fraud scams were big as the Lower Makefield Township Police Department Friday released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

RETAIL THEFT —100 block of Oxford Valley Road at CVS, reported at 3:25 p.m. The store manager reported an unknown female entered the store and removed an unknown amount of vitamins without paying.

IDENTITY THEFT —1100 block of Lily Pond Lane, reported at 3 p.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) attempted to open a bank account in their name.
SOLICITORS —Glenwood South Gate Street and Yardley Road, reported at 12:06 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors for Modern Roofing and Exteriors soliciting without permits. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.

FRAUD —900 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 11:30 a.m. The complainant reported purchasing more than $2,500 worth of collectible cards through eBay and not receiving the products.

FRAUD —1000 block of Harvard Drive, reported at 8:20 p.m. The complainant reported
responding to an alert on their computer that it was hacked and to call a phone number for assistance. While on the phone call, the victim provided their IP address, copy of their
Driver’s License and wired $49,000 to who they thought was Bank of America.

IDENTITY THEFT —900 block of Queens Drive, reported at 2:18 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) opened a credit card in their name.

FRAUD —1600 block Quarry Road, reported at 1:16 p.m. The complainant reported an unauthorized use of their credit card for $190.91.
