Bitcoin Scam, Social Security Fraud: Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A Bitcoin scam and Social Security fraud were among the criminal incidents released this past week by the Lower Makefield Township Police Department in its blotter.
These are the criminal incidents:

FRAUD —1800 Block of Inverness Dr. at 5:24 p.m. The complainant reported that while on a social media app, they were asked to send Bitcoin or wire money overseas to India. The complainant deleted the app and there was no monetary loss.
FRAUD —1700 Block of North Dove Road at 10:25 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person used their Social Security number and was collecting SNAP benefits. They were advised to contact Social Security and monitor their credit. No monetary loss was sustained.

Jan. 18
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —-1400 Block of Lynbrooke Drive at 2:26 p.m. The complainant reported that their 2007 Toyota had been stolen from their residence sometime on Jan. 16. Police recovered and processed the vehicle, which was then released the vehicle to its owner.
Jan. 17
FRAUD —1600 Block of Dolington Road at 5:19 p.m. The complainant reported that they called Xfinity at a number they obtained from a Google search. They provided their account and login information before realizing it was not Xfinity. The complainant then saw fraudulent charges on their credit card. They reported the incident to Xfinity and the credit card company as fraud.
Attempted Theft from Auto —Unit block of Delaware Rim Drive at 12:51 p.m. The complainant reports that sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, an unknown person entered their vehicle and went through the glove box and front interior part of the vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing.
