Along its journey, the relay is remembering the fallen and drawing attention to and publicly recognizing the nation's heroes, including members of the emergency services (fire, police and emergency medical technicians) and the U.S. Armed Forces who put their lives on the line every day for others.
Thousands of volunteers are participating in Carry The Load’s National Relay that spans 20,000 miles, 48 states, and 85 rallies. The five relay routes will converge at the Dallas Memorial March on Memorial Day weekend, the organization states.
Founded by Veteran U.S. Navy SEALs, Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley, Carry The Load started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Today, it has grown to include more than just the nation's military heroes and more than just one holiday. Carry The Load works to bring all Americans together to participate in honoring the nation’s heroes every day.
