YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Council is expected to have an open position on its seven-member board.

The council is expected to accept the resignation of one of its seven members with the item listed at the end of the council's meeting agenda for Monday night.

The resignation comes four months after the council filled two vacancies on its board.

That's when David Appelbaum and Don Carlson were appointed to fill seats to replace David Bria and Chris Campellone. Both had resigned because they were moving out of town.

Carlson and Appelbaum were chosen over Dawn Perlmutter and Earl Markey —both who previously ran for council —and former Councilwoman Susan Taylor.

Their terms will end on Jan. 2, 2024.

The council consists of: President Caroline Thompson, Kim Segal-Morris, Matt Ross, Matt Curtin, John McCann, Appelbaum, and Carlson.

The size of the council has been called into question when a resident filed a petition to have the council reduced from seven to five members due to the borough's size. That measure, which became a Nov. 8 ballot question, defeated by voters.
