Date Set For LMT Wegman's Development Hearing (ICYMI)
Hundreds turned out for the originally scheduled hearing, on a plan for an area between Shady Brook Farm and Interstate 295.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A date has been set for a public hearing on plans to build a 36-acre development that would include a Wegman's grocery in Lower Makefield.
The hearing will be held by LMT's planning commission on Monday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Pennwood Middle School. Pennwood is located at 1523 Makefield Rd., Yardley.
Last month, the hearing was started, then postponed so officials could seek out a venue that could handle the large crowd the discussion had drawn.

Many of the hundreds who showed up at the meeting were there to oppose plans for the store, which would be part of a 36-acre, mixed-use development off of Stony Hill Road.
After about an hour of discussion, during which attendees reportedly shouted at developers and complained they couldn't see or hear, members of the commission voted to suspend the hearing and seek out a bigger building.

The development, called Prickett Run at Edgewood, is proposed to be located on a strip of land between Stony Hill Road and I-295, just across from Shady Brook Farm.
Developers DeLuca Homes and Equus Capital say the development would be a "live, work, play" community across from the farm, which is a popular destination for visitors.
To build the development they'd like, developers must get an amendment to the township's zoning ordinance and map approved. The planning commission will first consider the amendment, then make a recommendation to township supervisors.
