Drone Donated To Yardley Borough Police Department

YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Police Department will be taking to the skies.
Police Chief Joseph Kelly III has announced that the police department received the donation of new public safety equipment in the form of a drone.

- Provide live visuals of emergencies, allowing officers to make informed decisions quickly.
- Help officers assess potentially dangerous situations from a distance, which can improve safety.
- Create 3D models of crime scenes, which can help investigators analyze evidence.
- Assist with searches and rescues in fields and waterways.
- Crowd monitoring during large special events and public gatherings.
- Accident reconstruction.
"Our deepest thanks and appreciation to Councilwoman Michelle Sharer and her husband for their donation of a drone to the YBPD. This addition of this new equipment will enhance public and police officer safety in Yardley Boro in many ways as a drone can," Kelly said.
