Fire Damages Home On Yardley-Morrisville Road In Lower Makefield Twp.
The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company responded to more than 10 calls for fire alarms, fireplace mishaps and broken water pipes.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —An early morning fire Monday has damaged a home on Yardley-Morrisville Road, fire officials said.
The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company was dispatched just after 1 a.m. Monday to the 1800 block of Yardley-Morrisville Road for a reported house fire. The Morrisville Fire Company assisted.
Fire officials found a working basement fire that was extending into the walls.

Engine 98 arrived and went in service to the basement, while Ladder 0 laid in from the hydrant and pulled a second line off Engine 98 to the 1st floor.
Crews found the fire running the walls up into the attic and a third line was deployed by Engine 30’s crew while Rescue 32's crew opened up the roof.

Firefighters fought that blaze for more than two hours. Medic 100 provided medical standby.
Fire officials said it was busy during the holiday weekend with more than 10 calls for fire alarms, fireplace mishaps, and broken water pipes.
In other fire department news:
- YMFC members practiced deploying hose lines in one of our four-story office buildings earlier this month. Members deployed hand lines on multiple floors and went over some of the building features that could be used during an emergency.
- Also earlier this month, YMFC members attended the graduation ceremony for Jen Boxer, MacKennzie Crain, Theo Fiori, and Laurie Stiles. All four completed the four-month national certification firefighter 1 course. Stiles also received the Outstanding Student Award.
