Free trees for Yardley Borough residents!

For the fifth consecutive year, the Yardley Borough Shade Tree Commission and the Yardley Borough Tree Tenders will be planting trees on properties inside the borough. The date for planting will be Thursday-Friday, November 19-20, 2020. If you are a borough resident and are interested in having the tree tenders plant a tree on your property please let us know ASAP. Homeowners must be present at planting. The goal of this service is to increase the tree canopy in Yardley Borough.

The following trees are available this year (subject to change):

Malus 'Prairifire' – Crabapple, Mature Height, 15-20 feet, Mature Spread, 15-20 feet

Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Robin Hill Pink' - Apple serviceberry hybrid, Height, 20-25 feet, Spread, 12-18 feet

Prunus sargentii 'Spring Wonder' - Sargent cherry, Height, 20-30 feet, Spread, 20-30 feet

Tilia tomentosa 'Sterling', Silver linden, Height, 40-50 feet, Spread, 20-30 feet

Acer rubrum 'Bowhall' - Red maple, Height, 45-50 feet, Spread, 15-20 feet

Ulmus americana 'Princeton' - American elm Height, 50-70 feet Spread, 30-50 feet

Quercus rubra Red oak Height, 60-80 feet Spread, 50-60 feet

We request that you make an application for a tree (limit 1 per property) as soon as possible. With planting less than 2 weeks away and with limited availability we expect to "sell out" quickly so do not hesitate to make your reservations.
