Grant Will Help Yardley Police Report Crime Data
The crime and delinquency grant will be used to secure necessary records management upgrades, the Yardley Borough Police Department said.
YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Police Department has received final approval on a PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency Grant.
Yardley Police said the grant will be used to secure necessary records management upgrades.
Once implemented, the police department will report crime statistics to the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) NIBRS database.

As of January 2021, NIBRS became the national standard for law enforcement crime data reporting in the United States.
The data collected through NIBRS provides the ability to capture details on criminal incidents, including information on victims, known offenders, relationships between victims and offenders, arrestees, and property involved in crimes.

The $46,735 will be used for software, hardware, and labor needed to install NIBRS-compliant record management systems; training on how to collect and submit NIBRS data; and/or technical assistance for personnel responsible for data collection and submission, the police department said.
The police department thanked the Yardley Boro Council, Sen. Steve Santarsiero. Rep. Perry Warren and Bucks County Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia for their assistance and support of the grant.
