Holiday Lights Snipped At Lower Makefield Township Home: Police

A Knox Drive home had the wires of its holiday lights cut on Nov. 30, the Lower Makefield Police Department said. Police have no suspects.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —There's a Grinch among the township folk or maybe it's Scrooge saying "Bah Humbug."

Whatever the case, the Lower Makefield Township Police Department reported that someone wasn't in the Christmas spirit when they cut the wires to the holiday lights of a home on the 200 block of Knox Drive in a criminal mischief vandalism incident the homeowner reported at 9:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Meanwhile, police also reported finding a burglar hiding in a bedroom closet in a separate incident.

Police responded to an alarm activation on the 1700 block of Clydesdale Circle at 3:52 p.m. on Nov. 27. There they found a 58-year-old Baltimore, MD., man hiding in a bedroom closet. He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and related offenses. He was arraigned and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $250,000/10 percent bail.

  • Identity Theft —1900 block of Kirkbride Circle, reported at 8:33 a.m. on Dec. 1. The complainant reported unknown person(s) attempted to open two checking accounts in their name.
  • Retail Theft —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Kohl’s, reported at 12:41 p.m. on Nov. 30. Loss Prevention reported an unknown male removed luggage and exited the store without paying. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Credit Card Fraud —500 block of Keating Drive, reported at 10:17 a.m. Nov. 29. The complainant reported unauthorized use of their credit card in the amount of $200.11.
  • Receiving Stolen Property —Routes 332 and 295, reported at 12:44 p.m. on Nov. 29. Police on patrol were alerted to a stolen U-Haul at the location. A 34-year-old Durham, N.C. man was taken into police custody for receiving stolen property and related charges.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft —Unit block of Bedford Place, reported at 4:03 p.m. on Nov. 29. The complainant reported the theft of an ATV from their shed.
  • Theft —Unit block of Griffin Way, reported at 5:36 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of an Apple Watch from a package while in transit.
  • Attempted Theft from Vehicle —1600 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 7 p.m. The complainant reported that while shopping, unknown person(s) attempted to steal the catalytic converter from their vehicle.
  • Fraud —800 block of River Road, reported at 3:43 p.m. The complainant reported falling victim to the PECO scam and sent $5,000 in Bitcoin to unknown person(s).
  • Retail Theft —600 block of Heacock Road at McCaffrey’s Food Market, reported at 9:14 p.m. on Nov. 23. The store manager reported that a woman loaded her cart with about $300 worth of groceries and left the store without paying. She fled in a white Chrysler 300. The investigation is ongoing.
