It's No Swan Song For Lake Afton Clean-Up Day In Yardley
Friends of Lake Afton introduce a new swan for rides and also prepare for cleanup Saturday.

YARDLEY, PA —Lady Afton meet Lake Afton.
The new swan —which arrived from the Philadelphia Zoo —made her debut at last month's Harvest Day and will show up once again for a boat ride fundraiser next spring, Michelle Sharer, president of Friends of Lake Afton said.
But Lady Afton won't appear at Saturday's Lake Afton Clean-Up Day.

The cleanup takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 22, at Lake Afton. The lake, considered among the borough's jewels by organizers, is next to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on 47 W. Afton Ave.
Residents are encouraged to bring light gardening and landscaping tools.

Organizers are also gearing up for the All Things Yardley Gift Shop on Nov. 26 at the Yardley Community Center.
Shafer said there will be gifts for all ages, Yardley ornaments, puzzles, matching games, pot holders, dish towels, totes, wine bags, coffee mugs, license plates, magnets and more with all gifts pertaining to Yardley and/or Lake Afton.
All proceeds will be donated to Friends of Lake Afton (FOLA) to take care of Lake Afton. The non-profit organization has been doing so for 53 years.
