K-9 Titan Mourned In Lower Makefield Township

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department dog died of natural causes Friday. Titan was 9 years old.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The Lower Makefield Township Police Department is mourning the loss of K-9 Titan.

The police dog died last Friday of natural causes, the police department said.

Titan joined the Lower Makefield Police Department canine unit in 2026 and was assigned to Police Officer Jason Landis.

Both attended and graduated from the New Jersey State Police Canine Academy in 2017, the department said.

Titan was a dual-purpose canine, specializing in explosives detection and patrol.

The K-9 team was instrumental in numerous explosive clearances of schools and commercial buildings as well as the tracking of suspects, missing persons, and evidence recovery.

"Titan will be missed by the Lower Makefield police family and the community he served, but most of all by his handler Jason Landis, his son Jax and fiancé Ashley," the police department stated.
