Mister Softee Slapped For Soliticing: Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Mister Softee tried to serve ice cream to poolgoers recently. But that plan melted when they were slapped for soliciting without a permit.

July 17
FRAUD:

- 1600 block of Barnswallow Road, reported at 3:30 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) hacked their phone to withdraw $11,000 from their bank accounts and used the money on betting sites.
- 600 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 10 a.m. The complainant reported installing commercial equipment for a business and received three worthless checks.
- 700 block of Stony Hill Road at Giant Food Store, reported at 12:21 p.m. Loss Prevention reported on July 16 that two unknown males attempted to complete a wire transfer for $2,900. While performing this transaction, one man was distracting the employee by trying to purchase a drink. The employee realized the money was short. The suspects then advised the employee to count again and were moving money around while counting and taking more from the pile. An investigation is ongoing.
RETAIL THEFT —500 block of West Trenton Avenue at CVS, reported at 12:02 p.m. The manager reported that on July 2, a man entered the store and removed $74.47 worth of merchandise without paying. On July 17, he removed $50.27 worth of merchandise without paying. The 78-year-old Morrisville man was charged with retail theft.
July 16
SOLICITORS —1000 block of Edgewood Road at the LMT Pool, reported at 2:42 p.m. The complainant reported Mister Softee soliciting in the parking lot without a permit. He was advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
July 15
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —700 block of Ardsley Road, reported at 12:46 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of their 2020 Mazda 6.
ATTEMPTED THEFT FROM VEHICLE —700 block of Ardsley Road, reported at 9:23 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing.
July 14
CREDIT CARD FRAUD —Unit block of Plymouth Lane, reported at 1:56 p.m. The complainant reported the unauthorized use of their credit card for $12,000.0 An investigation is ongoing.
July 13
THEFT FROM VEHICLE:
- 300 block of West Ferry Road, reported at 1:32 a.m.. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $30 worth of items.
- 200 block of Forrest Road, reported at 7:28 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight that an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $2,500 worth of items.
WANTED PERSON —Big Oak Road and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 11:39 a.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the discovery of a wanted person out of Bucks County. The 45-year-old male from Trenton, N.J., was taken into police custody.
RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY ARREST —Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 7:40 p.m. Police were assisting NJSP with apprehending suspects in an armed carjacking in N.J. The suspect vehicle crashed in the area and fled on foot. Two juveniles were taken into police custody and an arrest warrant was issued for a 20-year-old Irvington, N.J. man. An investigation is ongoing.
July 12
THEFT —600 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 7:49 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of $540.00 from their account.
FRAUD:
- 1600 block of Heller Drive, reported at 9:45 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) altered an old check and withdrew $52,129 from their account.
- 500 block of Cedar Hollow Drive, reported at 4:42 p.m. The complainant reported unauthorized transactions on their bank account for $960.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —1600 block of Covington Road, reported at 10:13 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of their 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
SOLICITORS —1600 block of Lakeview Circle, reported at 1:34 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors for Direct Energy soliciting without permits. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.
July 11
THEFT FROM VEHICLE:
- Unit block of Wendover Rd. reported at 7:32 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $150 worth of items. An Acura key that did not belong to the victim was left in their vehicle.
- Unit block of Glen Drive, reported at 7:32 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. It was not known if anything was removed.
- Unit block of Glen Drive, reported at 7:05 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight that an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicles and removed $120 worth of items.
- 700 block of River Road, reported at 11:29 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $20 USC.
- Unit block of Glen Drive, reported at 12:15 p.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $50 worth of items.
BURGLARY —Unit block of Black Rock Road, reported at 12:32 p.m. The complainant
reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered their garage and removed
$300 worth of items from their vehicle inside.
IDENTITY THEFT —1300 block of Jacob Drive, reported at 1:49 p.m. The complainant reported being notified by their bank that an unknown person attempted to use their identification to withdraw money from their account.
THEFT —Unit block of Oxford Valley Road, reported at 6 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) cashed $5,820 worth of fraudulent checks on their account.
