Political Election Signs Burned, Damaged: Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A scam involved 23 gift cards. And a woman was charged with 21 counts of retail theft. Meanwhile, some political election signs were burned and damaged.

Oct. 3
THEFT FROM VEHICLE —900 block of Greenway Avenue, reported at 8:40 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight that an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a driver’s license, medical marijuana card, and debit card.

ATTEMPTED THEFT FROM VEHICLE —Unit block of Arborlea Avenue, reported at 9:21 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing at this time.
THEFT —200 block of Kathy Drive, reported at 10:21 a.m. The complainant reported unknown
person(s) hacked into their email and Coinbase app and withdrew $1,949. There was an attempt to withdraw $10,000.00 but put on hold due to the large amount.
FRAUD —Unit block of West Ferry Road, reported at 7:13 p.m. The complainant reported an
unknown person(s) using their child’s identity to raise money online.
Oct. 1
THEFT FROM VEHICLE —Unit block of Effingham Road, reported at 10:07 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $4,000 worth of tools.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —1300 block Heller Drive, reported at 7:59 p.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) damaged their political signs.
Sept. 30
FRAUD —Unit block of Bedford Place, reported at 4:31 p.m. The complainant reported receiving
an alert on their laptop stating their computer was compromised and advised them to contact Apple. The victim called who they believed to be Apple, and they were advised their credit card was used on an online dating website for $7,000. The victim then followed instructions and drove around to several different stores, purchasing 23 $250 gift cards and provided them to the caller.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —Washington Crossing Road and Lindenhurst Road, reported at 9:26 p.m. The complainant reported political sign on fire on the side of the road.

IDENTITY THEFT —100 block of West College Avenue, reported at 9:43 a.m. The complainant
reported receiving an alert from Experian that an unknown person was using their social
security number with a different name.
RETAIL THEFT – 1600 block of Big Oak Road at Kohl’s, reported at 2:27 p.m. Police responded to the report of a retail theft in progress. Police located a male in the woods and a woman in a car on the side of the highway. The 25-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y., woman and 20-year-old Albany, N.Y., man were taken into police custody for retail theft. They were arraigned by District Justice Gallagher and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —1200 block of Evergreen Road, reported at 1:25 p.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicles and removed loose change. Another vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing reported missing.
Sept. 27
RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 5:06 p.m. Police responded to the report of a repeat offender in the store. Loss Prevention stopped the suspect outside, where police were waiting. The 58-year-old Philadelphia woman was taken into police custody. She was charged with 21 counts of retail theft and 21 counts of receiving stolen property. She was arraigned by District Justice Gallagher and released on $30,000 unsecured bail.
