YARDLEY, PA —Josh Friedman loves getting out before sunrise.

One of the photographer's favorite spots is Washington Crossing. He was out there on a cold Saturday morning on Feb. 3. And while returning home to Yardley, Friedman stopped for another picture.

"I saw this old truck in front of the Yardley Service Center," Friedman said. "I had just started to warm up but figured now was my chance to take a few photos (I had driven past it several times during the prior week)."

Friedman wanted to highlight the name "Yardley" right above the truck, so he set up his tripod on the sidewalk (across Main Street) so that his camera was just about 18 inches off the ground.

He first took a few images which included the entire truck.

But for his final photograph, Friedman zoomed in a bit tighter (with my 100-400 lens), to show the texture of the rust. It is an HDR (high dynamic range) image from three exposures that he merged together.
