The Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of criminal incidents with numerous solicitor reports in the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Solicitors seemed to be on the prowl in Lower Makefield Township this past week as police reported at least eight solicitation incidents.

4/13/2023
FRAUD —600 block of Rose Hollow Rd. reported at 3 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) filed a fraudulent tax return in their name.

SOLICITORS —Unit block of N. Manor Lane, reported at 3:10 p.m. The complainant reported a
solicitor for North Star Roofing soliciting without a permit. Contact was made with the owner, who was previously advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained, and a citation will be issued.
THEFTS:
- 300 block of Twig Lane, reported at 1:19 p.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.
- 200 block of Dunhill Way, reported at 4:00 p.m. The complainant reported purchasing $28,000 worth of furniture in May 2022 but not receiving the merchandise. The investigation is ongoing.
4/12/2023
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —1000 block of N. Elbow Lane, reported at 7:14 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) spray-painted their vehicle.
FRAUD —1700 block of Wrightfield Avenue, reported at 10:56 a.m. The complainant reported an
unknown person(s) has been using their information, incurring ambulance charges and other medical expenses in their name.
SOLICITORS —Lawndale Road and Sutphin Road, reported at 3:33 p.m. The complainant reported a solicitor for North Star Roofing soliciting without a permit. The man was located and advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
DUI ARREST —1300 block of Oxford Valley Road, reported at 7:45 p.m. The complainant reported a known person was driving their vehicle without consent and was impaired. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 61-year-old Morrisville man for Driving Under the Influence. He was arraigned before District Justice and sent to BCCF in lieu of $15,000/10 percent bail.

ATTEMPTED THEFT FROM VEHICLE —1400 block Scarlet Oak Rd. reported at 1:11 p.m. The complainant reported that their car alarm went off around 2 a.m. and the glove box was opened. Nothing was reported missing at this time.

SOLICITORS:
- 900 block of Hunt Drive, reported at 5:47 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors in the area soliciting without permits. They were not able to be located.
- 500 block of Long Acre Lane, reported at 5:53 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors in the area soliciting without permits. They were not able to be located.

THEFT —900 block of Big Oak Rd. reported at 8:44 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted mailed checks, altered, and cashed them.
SOLICITORS —800 block of Dukes Drive, reported at 10:18 a.m. The complainant reported solicitors for Pro Storm Repair in the area soliciting without a permit. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY —1600 block of Lakeview Circle, reported at 4:39 p.m. The complainant reported upon arriving home, they observed two unknown males attempting to force entry into the residence. The suspects fled on foot upon seeing the homeowner. The investigation is ongoing.

SOLICITORS —1200 block of Prospect Farm Drive, reported at 2:08 p.m. The complainant reported solicitor for Renovation Authority soliciting without a permit. He was advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
FRAUD —2000 block of Quarry Road, reported at 11:38 a.m. The complainant reported sending a $500 deposit for a Facebook Marketplace item for sale. When the victim arrived at the agreed location to pick up the item, they were sent to an abandoned house, and the person’s Facebook page was deleted.
RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 8:13 a.m. Loss Prevention detained a 70-year-old Levittown man for switching price labels and intentionally not scanning items. The approximate value was $215.80.
IDENTITY THEFT —600 block of Palmer Lane, reported at 8:21 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) created and cashed two fraudulent checks with their information.
THEFTS:
- 900 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 9:48 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of $35,000 worth of materials from a construction site.
- 600 block of Rose Hollow Road, reported at 10:40 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of $1,100 cash from a drawer.
- 300 block of Hidden Oaks Drive, reported at 11:12 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) created and cashed a fraudulent check with their information.

DUI ARREST —River Road and Vickers Way, reported at 11:27 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 30-year-old Trenton man for Driving Under the Influence.
THEFT —300 block of Oxford Valley Rd. at CCP Cardiology reported at 4:16 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of two wallets from their purse in their office. One of their credit cards was subsequently used at Best Buy in Princeton, NJ, in the amount of $2,800.

- Friar Drive and Trend Road, reported at 11:17 a.m. The complainant reported a solicitor for Pro Storm Repair in the area soliciting without a permit. They were advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
- 1800 block of South Crescent Boulevard, reported at 1:34 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors in the area soliciting without permits. They were not able to be located.
FRAUD —1400 block of Revere Road, reported at 12:08 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.
