Stolen Cell Phone Tower Batteries Top Lower Makefield Twp. Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Batteries were stolen from a cell phone tower and someone bought two airline tickets using a resident's miles.

Those were some of the recent criminal incidents in the past week released by the Lower Makefield Township Police Department on Friday.

Aug. 3

UNDERAGE DRINKING —Steeplechase Drive and Lindenhurst Road, reported at 4:20 a.m. Police responded to the report of a one-vehicle accident at the location which happened an hour prior. Upon arrival, the vehicle owner, but not the driver, was on location. They advised the driver to swerve to hit a deer. The driver was summoned to the scene. Further investigation revealed the 19-year-old Newtown man was under the influence of alcohol. He was cited for underage drinking.

IDENTITY THEFT —5200 block of Spruce Mill Drive, reported at 10:01 a.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) attempted to open a bank account using their information.

Aug. 2

THEFTS:

  • 2000 block of Silverwood Drive, reported at 12:40 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) removed a check from their mailbox, altered it, and attempted to cash it.
  • 1000 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 1:02 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of batteries from the cell phone tower.
FRAUD:
  • 300 block of Ramsey Rd. reported at 1:25 p.m. The complainant reported known person opened a Comcast account in their name.
  • 2500 block of Lynbrooke Drive, reported at 2:11 p.m. The complainant reported attempts to open a mortgage in their name.
  • 2100 block of Stackhouse Drive, reported at 2:26 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) accessed their American Airlines account and purchased two tickets using their miles.

Aug. 1

THEFTS:

  • 1500 block of Newtown-Yardley Road, reported at 12:11 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of a wallet from a purse inside the residence.
  • 1200 block of Bridle Estates Drive, reported at 1:37 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and cashed it.

FRAUD —1800 block of Wildflower Lane, reported at 12:08 p.m. The complainant reported fraud while attempting to purchase concert tickets from an unknown person online.
