Pursuit Ends In Catalytic Converter Recovery In Lower Makefield Twp.

Lower Makefield Township Police were involved in a pursuit Wednesday that led to a stolen vehicle arrest.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A pursuit led to Lower Makefield Township Police making an arrest in a stolen vehicle incident in which saws and seven-to eight catalytic converters were found in the vehicle.

Lower Makefield Township Police took into custody a 23-year-old Philadelphia man on Wednesday and charged him with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and fleeing and eluding.

Police said they received information regarding a catalytic converter theft in Falls Township around 4:23 a.m. Wednesday and got an LPR reader hit on a stolen registration at Big Oak Road and Oxford Valley Road.

The vehicle fled onto Route 295 where a pursuit ensued. The vehicle crashed into a median and two men fled on foot.

Meanwhile, two catalytic converters were swiped this past week as reported in the Lower Makefield Township Police Department's blotter of criminal incidents released Friday.

WANTED PERSON —100 block Oxford Valley Road, reported at 10:58 a.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A records check revealed the 39-year-old Langhorne driver was wanted out of Philadelphia for embezzlement. He was taken into police custody.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLE

  • 2400 block of Cornerstone Drive, reported at 11:13 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle.
  • 1600 block of Waterford Road, reported at 7:34 p.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle.

5/30/2023

FRAUD —500 block Liberty Drive, reported at 3:06 p.m. The complainant reported checks intended for them were intercepted and cashed.

5/26/2023

BURGLARY —200 block of Elm Avenue, reported at 8:08 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) forced entry into the shed and removed multiple
items. The burglary was captured on surveillance. The investigation is ongoing.

UNDERAGE DRINKING —600 block of Friar Dr. reported at 11:56PM. Police responded to the report of loud music at the location. Further investigation led to the discovery of an underage drinking party. 10 individuals between the ages of 18-20 were cited for underage drinking.
