Theft From Vehicles, Mischief, Fraud : Lower Makefield PD Blotter
A rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles led to the taking of items worth up to $1,100 and officers looked into other offenses, police said.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – Officers from the Lower Makefield Township Police Department handled a number of complaints over the past week. Criminal charges do not equate to a guilty finding and suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
INCIDENTS
Attempted theft from vehicle

- Officers were called to the 300 block of Saly Road at 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, when the complainant said that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported stolen.
Theft from a vehicle
- Officers were called to the 300 block of Saly Road at 6:47 a.m. after the complainant reported that sometime in the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a Bluetooth speaker and a bag with multiple CDs. A second vehicle had its window broken out which resulted in the taking of a small amount of cash.
- Officers were called to the 300 block of Margery Road at 9:56 a.m. when the complainant reported that sometime in the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a car vacuum.
- Officers were called to the 1100 block of Quarry Commons Drive at 9:01 a.m. when the complainant reported that sometime in the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons entered an unlocked vehicle and removed $1,100 worth of personal belongings.
- Officers were called to the 1100 block of Kenneth Lane at 10:17 p.m. when the complainant said an unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a pair of sunglasses.

- Officers were called to the 1400 block of Woodside Road at Makefield Golf Club where a complainant said their vehicle was keyed.
Retail Theft
- Officers were called to the 1600 block of Big Oak Road at 4:49 p.m. when a 41-year-old man was detained from taking $80 worth of baby formula. The man received a summons after surveillance video was viewed alerting officials of the theft.
Fraud
- Officers were called to the 100 block of West Ferry Road at 5:17 p.m. where a complainant received a message from someone they thought was a friend requesting they purchase $500 in Apple gift cards.
Credit card fraud
- Officers were called to the 100 block of Warwick Road at 1:09 p.m. when a complainant reported the unauthorized use of a credit card in the amount of $6002.97.
Burglary
- Officers were called to the 1600 block of Powderhorn Drive at 6:51 a.m. when the complainant said that sometime between Oct. 7 and Oct. 15, an unknown person forced entry in their house by smashing out the glass in a back door and stole jewelry.
Identity theft
- Officers were called to the 1400 block of Scarlet Oak Road at 2:34 p.m. when the complainant said an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
- Officers were called to the 2100 block of West Wellington Road at 11:19 a.m. when the complainant said an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
- Officers were called to the 1700 block of Sunflower Way at 5 p.m. when the complainant said an unknown person opened a credit card in their name.
