The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —After a few attempted thefts, the first retail theft at the new Wegmans supermarket has been reported.

April 1
FRAUD:

- 1400 block of Heller Drive, reported at 11:15 a.m. The complainant reported that over the past year, they sent about $72,000 to a grant-writing company to obtain a grant check to help the less fortunate. When they went to cash the check, the bank told them it was fraudulent.
- 300 block of North Fieldstone Court, reported at 2:59 p.m. The complainant reported hiring Home Repair LLC in November 2023 to complete work on their residence that was damaged by a hail storm. The insurance check was cashed, but the work has not been completed. The company has not responded to the homeowner’s attempts to contact them. The investigation is ongoing.
- 200 block of South Fieldstone Court, reported at 2:08 p.m. The complainant reported hiring Home Repair LLC in July 2023 to complete work on their residence that was damaged by a hail storm. The insurance check was cashed, but the work has not been completed. The company has not responded to the homeowner’s attempts to contact them. The investigation is ongoing.
IDENTITY THEFT —700 block of Stony Hill Road at Citizen’s Bank, reported at 1:27 p.m. The manager reported that two people in the bank were attempting to commit fraud. The investigation revealed the man was attempting to access others’ business accounts using
a fake ID. The woman was working as a translator with a fake ID as well. The woman admitted to there possibly being Crystal Meth in the vehicle. The vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was requested. The 31-year-old woman from Long Island, N.Y., and the 59-year-old man from Flushing, N.Y., were taken into police custody. They were charged with Identity Theft, Forgery, Access Device Fraud and Conspiracy. They were arraigned by Judge Baranowski. The woman was sent to BCCF in lieu of 10 percent $75,000 bail and the man was sent to BCCF in lieu of 10 percent $150,000 bail.
March 30
RETAIL THEFT —900 block of Vansant Drive at Wegmans, reported at 2:08 p.m. Loss
Prevention detained an 18-year-old Newtown man and an 18-year-old Warminster man for taking $38.69 worth of merchandise without paying. They were taken into police custody and cited for retail theft.
March 29
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 2:09 p.m. The complainant reported a rock thrown at their vehicle.
RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 2:16 p.m. Loss Prevention detained a 57-year-old Philadelphia woman for taking $335.40 worth of merchandise on multiple dates without paying. She was taken into police custody.
March 28
WEAPONS ARREST —Oxford Valley Road and Route 1, reported at 2:01 p.m. Police on patrol
observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the area. A traffic stop was conducted. Further investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old Philadelphia man for possession of a firearm without a license, obstructing law enforcement, resisting arrest, and related charges. He was arraigned by Judge Gallagher and sent to BCCF in lieu of 10 percent with $75,000 bail.
IDENTITY THEFT:
- 1300 block of Heller Drive, reported at 3:30 p.m. The complainant reported someone opened a Capital One account in their name.
- 600 block of Friar Drive, reported at 4:37 p.m. The complainant reported their identity was usedto open multiple accounts.
