Woman Stole 10 Times From Lower Makefield Store Since April: Police

Lower Makefield Police reported the Langhorne woman took grocery items from ShopRite 10 times since April 24.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Last Wednesday was a day of retail thefts at ShopRite, including one by a Langhorne woman who police said had committed 10 retail thefts there since late April.

Lower Makefield Police responded at 8:35 p.m. on July 24 to the ShopRite in the 1600 block of Big Oak Road where Loss Prevention reported a retail theft in progress.

Police located a woman walking towards Kohl’s and detained her. Loss Prevention reported the woman committed 10 previous retail thefts since April 24, totaling $155.99 in unpaid merchandise. The 32-year-old Langhorne woman was taken into police custody and will be summonsed for retail theft.

That wasn't the only retail theft at the ShopRite over that day, according to police.

  • 1600 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 12:04 p.m. Loss Prevention reported their facial recognition system alerted them to a repeat offender entering the store. On this date, an unknown woman removed $96.40 worth of merchandise without paying. An investigation is ongoing.
  • 1600 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 10:31 a.m. Loss Prevention reported a theft by a known male totaling $50.89. The investigation is ongoing.
  • 1600 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 1:59 p.m. Loss Prevention reported an unknown man removed $100.39 worth of merchandise without paying and fled in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle on Lynbrooke Dive and took the 53-year-old male driver from Howell, N.J., into custody for retail theft.
