YARDLEY, PA —The 12 vacancies on various boards and commissions have all been filled.

At the Yardley Borough Council's recent meeting, the council approved the appointment of four people to fill six positions that were open, filling all 12 vacancies during its two February meetings.

Three seats were open on the Human Relations Board and two were for the environmental advisory commission. The other opening was on the sewer authority.

"Over a four-month period of heavily promoting vacancies and conducting an exhaustive vetting process, I’m thrilled to announce that every appointed position on Yardley Borough’s boards and commissions has been filled," Councilman David Appelbaum said. "This is the first time in recent years that this has been achieved by a council."

The borough has had issues over the years finding candidates for commissions and boards. Appelbaum, who was appointed to the council in September, was assigned to the task.
