YARDLEY, PA —The 12 vacancies that Yardley had for positions on various borough boards have been cut in half.
Councilman David Appelbaum announced the appointments of four people to fill open seats on six different boards that the council then unanimously approved at its meeting Tuesday night.
The borough appointed Emily Davis to the parks and recreation commission. Davis is doing double duty by also filling a seat on the Human Relations board.

And Michelle Sharer, who oversees the Friends of Lake Afton, will also serve on the environmental advisory commission.
Sharer was recently announced on the Democratic ticket for council in the November general election.
The borough still has six seats open: One on the sewer board, three on the Human Relations Board, and two on the environmental advisory commission.
"There's plenty of opportunities to participate in these civic matters," Appelbaum said at a prior meeting. "I want to make sure everyone is given fair consideration."
Appelbaum told Patch Friday he's still seeking and vetting candidates.
