Interview times cannot be rescheduled at this time. The council reserves the right to make changes to interview times should there be a need. Failure to participate in the public interview will result in disqualification.

Mayor Caroline Thompson — the former council president — spoke of Feiner's contributions to the council and community and what she seeks in a replacement.

"As we consider the six members who will remain on Council, those strengths of our departing colleague should be part of our thinking as we search for a replacement," Thompson said.

"Uri has brought two defining strengths to this Council: He is a keen project manager with laser vision for the details of project execution and a fiscal creative (not conservative, CREATIVE)," said Thompson. "By that, I mean he approaches spending thoughtfully — supporting spend increases when they are needed, while always looking for alternative revenue sources such as grants, partnerships, and community fundraising."

Thompson said she will only vote in the event of a tie.

"In past vacancies, I have always focused on what the Council has, what it needs, and whether a candidate can help fill an important gap," Thompson said. "Finding someone who complements and strengthens our existing team is essential for serving the community well. A restaurant cannot operate with four cooks and no servers. We need variety of skill."
