2 People Die From Gunshot Wounds At Cumberland Home

All other residents were found unharmed inside the home, police said.

CUMBERLAND, RI — Two people died at a Cumberland home Wednesday morning after suffering gunshot wounds, according to police.

Around 6:40 a.m., Cumberland police were called to the 20th block of Birchwood Drive for a report of two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident, as the two people knew each other. All other residents were found unharmed inside the home, police said.

Police Chief Matthew Benson said there is no danger to the community, following the incident.

The adults found dead were not identified. No additional information was immediately available.
