DETROIT, MI — Forward Reichen Kirchmair of the Providence College women's hockey team was selected in the sixth round of the Professional Women's Hockey League draft.
Kirchmair became the fifth Friar in program history to be selected in the PWHL Draft, joining Brooke Becker, Sara Hjalmarsson, Sandra Abstreiter and Noemi Neubauerová, according to a media release.
"Kirchmair, the 2024-25 Hockey East Player of the Year, played in all 35 games during the 2025-26 season, finishing 16th all-time in program history with 142 games played," the release said. "She served as team captain during her senior season, leading the team in scoring for the second consecutive year with 25 points on 14 goals and 11 assists."
A finance major from Oakville, Ontario, Kirchmair reached the 100-point club with 55 goals and 45 assists in the team's final regular season game with a goal, becoming the 29th player in program history to reach the mark, according to the release.
