Rhode Island might not be the worst state in America when it comes to business, but it is last in the continental U.S., according to CNBC.
Rhode Island bested only Alaska and Hawaii on the business news network's list, placing 48th after Louisiana.
CNBC ranked each state in such categories as , economy, workforce and cost of doing business. Rhode Island was in the bottom half of each of the 10 categories but one: quality of life, where it placed 16th, three spots down from the previous year when it was 46th overall.
Rhode Island was last in the country for economy, second to last in access to capital and 46th in infrastructure.
The top state in CNBC's list was Ohio, followed by Ohio and North Carolina.
