A Rhode Island man recounted a harrowing encounter with a "Sasquatch" on the website of a group devoted to investigating Bigfoot sightings.
Kevin Klimas reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization that he had "just left" the rented cabin of a friend in Voluntown, Connecticut, in the first hours of July 5 when he saw "something jump into the road from my right heading to the woods on my left."
"I had to hit my brakes to avoid a collision with this thing," Klimas' account on the BFRO website said. "Upon doing so I witnessed a bipedal, 8-8½ foot tall creature swiftly crossing the road. It had coarse, matted, and greasy looking long brown hair covering every part of its body I could see."
The creature was thickly muscled, "moving like on a mission," and had a pointed head and a "jawline any pugilist would kill for," according to the post.
Two BFRO investigators looked into Klimas' claims.
Investigator Mike Young deemed them "accurate and honest."
"The woods around Voluntown have had significant Bigfoot activity," Young said.
Investigator Matt Moneymaker called Klimas, a Westerly resident, "credible."
"He's not lying about what he saw," Moneymaker said. "I could tell from the conversation."
