Child Who Drowned At Warwick Beach Identified
The 7-year-old drowned at Conimicut Point Beach.
WARWICK, RI — The child who drowned at Conimicut Point Beach Friday has been identified.
Aston Jemson, 7, was at the beach with his mother and younger sister when he drowned, the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.
"Aston had been playing in the water on the south side of Conimicut Point," the release said.

"According to the investigation, Aston’s younger sister complained of an upset stomach," per the release. "While his mother was attending to her daughter, she observed Aston lying face down in the water and noticed that he was not responding when she called his name."
Aston’s mother ran into the water, pulled her son to shore and started CPR, according to the release.

"Multiple bystanders assisted with CPR and called 911 prior to the arrival of emergency personnel," the release said.
The investigation of Aston's death is ongoing, according to police.
