Nearly 300 Without Power In Rhode Island

Nearly 300 Rhode Island Energy customers were without power Wednesday morning after a windy Tuesday night.

The utility company reported 299 customers were without power as of 9:15 a.m.

Winds gusted up to 53 mph Tuesday night.

Thursday will only have winds blowing 5 to 9 mph, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Thursday night will dip to 30, but a mostly sunny Friday will climb to 50.
