Providence's Walinski Named Stop It Goalie Of The Week
Hope Walinski notched 58 saves and a 1.47 goals-against average in a weekend sweep of Boston College and Holy Cross.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Providence College's Hope Walinski was named the Stop It Goaltending Goalie Of The Week.
Walinski, a graduate student from Lincoln, posted a 1.47 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage, stopping 58 of 61 shots faced in a weekend sweep of Boston College.

Walinski recorded 35 saves in Friday’s 3-2 overtime victory over Boston College, marking her 14th game this season with 30 or more saves. She did not allow an even-strength goal during the weekend.

Walinski has appeared in every game for the Friars this season and owns a 2.81 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage and an 11-17-2 record.

Earlier this month, Walinski, a graduate student from Lincoln, was named Army ROTC Defender of the Week.

The Friars wrap up the regular season with a road game against Boston University Friday and a home game against the Northeastern Huskies for Senior Day on Saturday.
