Rhode Island Capitol Police Recruit Who Died Identified
The Providence man was taken by ambulance from a training exercise Dec. 23, police said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Capitol Police recruit who died following a training exercise has been identified.
The Rhode Island State Police identified the recruit as 27-year-old Kyron Lopes of Providence.
Lopes was taken by ambulance following a De. 23 training exercise and died two days later, said state police Capt. Capt. Marc Alboum.

Lopes' cause of death is pending and the investigation is ongoing, Alboum said.
