Rhode Island DCYF Reports Near Fatalities Of Infant And Teen
The near fatality of the infant was caused by maltreatment according to the Department of Children, Youth & Families.
The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families reported the near fatalities of an infant and a 16-year-old.
The infant, a 2-month-old, nearly died Jan. 4, DCYF said in a media release.

"The DCYF investigation into this incident has concluded and determined this near fatality resulted from maltreatment," the release said.

The child was not involved with DCYF at the time of the incident, according to the release.
The 16-year-old nearly died Tuesday, the release said.

"The youth was involved with DCYF at the time of the incident," according to the release.

"The Office of the Child Advocate has been notified of both incidents," the release said.
